How we work

Stay close to the problem.
Let use change the answer.

Steckler Lab is a family-centered independent software company founded by Christian Steckler. We begin with problems we understand, build the smallest product that can help, and put it in front of people who can use it. What happens next is determined by evidence: stop, revise, or accept the responsibility of maintaining it.

01

Real problems first

Name the person, need, and smallest useful outcome before choosing a platform or expanding the scope.

02

Working software early

Put a small version into voluntary real use so assumptions can meet evidence while change is still inexpensive.

03

Honest status

Prototype, alpha, invite-only, and public mean different things. We state the current condition instead of borrowing credibility from a future plan.

04

Earn the next step

Maintenance and shared infrastructure are responsibilities. Repeated use must justify adding either one.
